How about this…these wings are a juggernaut of flavor that is going to hit your taste buds with the ferocity of a meteor striking Earth. OK, maybe that’s a little dramatic, but all I can say is that these savory, salty, sweet, and spicy wings have never lasted for more than 10 minutes on my Super Bowl buffet table, so you’d just better expect to make a double batch.”

1¾ cups water
3 tablespoons sugar
2–3 tablespoons gochujang
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 quarts vegetable oil
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons cornstarch
3 pounds chicken wings, cut at joints, wingtips discarded
